The Impact Map
What was the challenge?
Following the success of our Timeless project, the Wellcome Trust and the London School of Economics and Political Science wanted to understand and codify how to deliver impactful public engagement projects, so that they could deploy this knowledge across other projects.
What did we do?
We conducted a rigorous analysis of the methods we’ve used to engage people successfully, and the ways in which we’ve worked with different academic institutions and commercial clients.
This resulted in the development of The Liminal Space Impact Map – a step-by-step guide to delivering impactful public engagement.
The Impact Map toolkit follows five core principles – Purpose, Partnerships, Participation, Production and Profile-raising. It gives you guidance to embed these principles in your working practice and takes you slowly and clearly through all the phases of delivery, from research and design to execution and evaluation.
